Internet Story Time Erin, my 10-year-old daughter was home with me on the weekend sick. Her father had work to do, and I did not want her to watch "Leave it To Beaver" reruns all afternoon. Fortunately I found Candlelight Stories (www.candlelightstories.com). This is a wonderful Web site that will read aloud to you child. Even though my daughter reads very well she enjoyed the activities on this website. You will need the free Windows Media Player 6.4 or higher to listen to the streaming audio. A father who wanted to publish a tale he had written for his daughter started Candlelight Stories in 1995. It's now home to stories, cartoons, contests and games, by authors from all around the world. The site's creator, Alexander Cima, is not a dot-com millionaire. He makes his living writing software. Candlelight Stories is a labor of love for him. So if you'll excuse me, it's time to set my daughter up to listen to "The Adventures of Pinocchio." Click here for the link: Story Time |
